The TfO 70-piece orchestra took to the stage of The Swan Theatre on February 13th, 2013 despite the rising flood waters which cut off huge parts of the city of Worcester and surrounding areas.
In 2014, on Saturday, August 23rd, we were back at The Swan Theatre to mark the 1st Anniversary with a programme which will include John Williams’ ‘Raiders March’, Jerome Moross’ ‘The Big Country’ and our first ever performance of games music with ‘Video Games Live’.
The newly-formed TfO Concert Band in which I play, already 30+ strong closd the first half of the programme with themes that included James Bond movies, Jurassic Park, and The Incredibles.
It was a sell out performance and experience I shall always remember.
Whilst many members of the band and orchestra have had many experiences like this, for me it was my first; walking onto the stage with my clarinet and, at end being brought to our feet to acknowledge our audience was magic.
