It was a pleasure to be invited by Jan’s niece and her wife to stay the weekend with them in Derbyshire – even more so that it would include a visit to Chatsworth and to the firework display in the gardens in the evening.
A grand stately home, Chatsworth House, the magnificent home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, has some wonderful modern art as well as the tradiditional paintings, where everything can be photographed, and an interesting garden with plenty of wonderful features and statues.
