Appeal for witnesses after classic cars stolen

West Mercia Police is appealing for help in locating a number of classic cars that were stolen for a storage unit in Shirley, Solihull between 3pm on Thursday 9th July and 2pm on Friday 17th July.

neighbourhoodwatchThe offenders forced entry to the storage unit and once inside the offenders have removed four high value classic cars. They then rolled the vehicles out of the unit, around the back of the unit and it is believed they were loaded into a waiting vehicle.

All vehicles stored in the unit had had their batteries and keys removed, cannot be driven. The cars taken were:

  • •    a red Ferrari Dino
  • •    a Lotus 51, Formula Ford racing car
  • •    a 1970 white MG BGT
  • •    a white 1985 Mini Cooper S replica

The owner of the storage unit is offering a reward of £20,000 for information that leads to a conviction and recovery of the vehicles.

Police would like to appeal to specialist car dealers and those within the trade to be vigilant should they be approached by anyone with the cars described above.
